Name at least four of the seven methods for unconventional/innovative thinking from the Manager Magazin list.

Cross-industry borrowing (Klassentreffen), the headstand worst-case flip, semantic intuition, brain-writing, play-with-change, Tempo 30, and the stimulus-image technique — seven ways to jolt your brain out of habitual patterns.

  1. Klassentreffen (Class Reunion / Cross-Industry Innovation)

    • Look at how other industries solve similar problems
    • Example: Healthcare infection protocols → cybersecurity incident containment
  2. Kopfstandtechnik (Headstand/Reverse Technique)

    • Run through worst-case scenarios: "How do we make our project fail?"
    • Covered in detail in a separate card
  3. Semantische Intuition (Semantic Intuition)

    • Combine random word pairs to spark new product/solution ideas
    • Write random words on a notepad, then combine them into creative word pairs
  4. Brain-Writing Pool

    • Silent written brainstorming — each person writes an idea on a card, cards are passed around in a circle for others to build upon
    • Builds on others' ideas without verbal dominance
  5. Spiel mit Veränderung (Play with Change)

    • Take an existing product/process and systematically alter its properties
    • Change size, material, speed, color, smell, target audience, etc.
  6. Tempo 30 (Speed 30)

    • Write 30 words that have nothing to do with the topic in one minute
    • Then use those words to force associations with the problem — allows creative leaps
  7. Reizbild-Technik (Stimulus Image Technique)

    • Use random images to trigger associations with the problem
    • Visual variant of the Random Word technique

Tip: These methods all share one principle — they force your brain out of familiar patterns by introducing constraints, randomness, or unusual perspectives.
