Should the objects at your loci ever move or change?
No — loci must be stable fixtures; use permanent features, not things that get moved, used up, or rearranged.
If you make "the fruit bowl" a locus and someone eats the fruit or shifts the bowl, the anchor wobbles. Prefer built-in, unmovable features: the door, the window, the staircase, the fireplace, the corner of a room. The images you place are wild and changeable; the loci holding them must be boringly permanent.
