What are the most common mistakes when building a palace?
Loci that are too similar, too close together, or ambiguous — plus an inconsistent route.
Watch out for:
- Identical loci (a row of matching chairs) — you won't know which held what.
- Loci too close — images merge across neighbouring spots.
- Ambiguous spots — "somewhere in the kitchen" isn't a locus; "the kitchen sink" is.
- A wandering route — different path each time means a different order each time.
Fix all four by choosing distinct, well-separated, specific stations and walking one fixed direction.
