What do the four key Vedic sutras mean, and which trick is each?

They're short slogans naming shortcuts you've already used in this module.

Sutra Literal meaning The trick
Ekadhikena Purvena "By one more than the one before" squaring numbers ending in 5 (n·(n+1)
Nikhilam Navatashcaramam Dashatah "All from 9 and the last from 10" multiplying/squaring near a base (100, 1000)
Urdhva-Tiryagbhyam "Vertically and crosswise" the cross method for general multiplication
Paravartya Yojayet "Transpose and adjust" division and rearranging equations

The sutras are just memorable names — the maths underneath is the ordinary place-value arithmetic you've been doing.
