What is the historical origin of ISO 27002?
ISO 27002 originated from the British Standard BS 7799-1:1999, went through several name changes, and became ISO 27002:2013.
Evolution timeline:
- 1999: British Standard BS 7799-1:1999
- 2000: Adopted by ISO as ISO 17799:2000
- 2005: Revised as ISO 17799:2005
- 2007: Renamed to ISO 27002:2007 (identical content to ISO 17799:2005)
- 2013: Revised as ISO 27002:2013
