What is the process for getting SRS (Software Requirements Specification) approval?

Get the list of acceptors, hold a walkthrough meeting, have the customer fill a sign-off protocol, circulate review items as a "last chance to object," then incorporate changes as a new version and resend.

SRS Approval Process:

  1. Get the list of acceptors from the PM/customer

    • Who needs to sign off?
  2. Organize an SRS walkthrough meeting with the acceptors

    • Review the document together
  3. Customer must fill out a sign-off protocol

    • Final remarks/feedback
    • Conditions for sign-off
  4. Before incorporating changes, send a list of the review items to the acceptors

    • Include those who did not attend the meeting
    • This is the "last chance to object"
  5. Incorporate the changes (save as a new version) and send it to the customer

Key point: Get formal sign-off before development begins - this protects both parties and establishes a baseline.
